Welcome on the site of Dr. Koen De Smet, from the ANCA Medical Center for Hip Surgery at Gent, Belgium.

The belgian ANCA-Clinic of the AMC-Gent earned an international reputation for its expertise and skills in hip resurfacing and trauma surgery. Many young and active patients, and athletes from around the world, has found their way to the clinic. But also patients, part of the so-called 'difficult-cases' group, have been helped successfully by the clinic's excellent and experienced team.
This web site is about sharing information on hip problems and treatment, and on the health care services offered by the ANCA clinic to its foreign patients.

In the  fourth quarter of  2008, the ANCA-Clinic will open a new hip center at Rome, Italy. Italian patients are welcome in their own country for consults and/or threatment.

The medical staff of the new clinic are build around Dr. Calistri (fulltime) and Dr. De Smet (parttime). For surgery and/or main treatment the facilities of the "Clinica Valle Giulia" hospital will be used.
